Celtics stun Sixers with dominant defense in Game 1 playoff win

The Boston Celtics won the first game of their playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers thanks to a strong defensive performance. The Celtics held the Sixers to just 89 points, the lowest scoring output for Philadelphia in a game this season.

Boston’s defense was particularly effective in limiting the production of Sixers’ star Joel Embiid, who was held to just 15 points on 5-for-16 shooting.

The Celtics’ defensive strategy was built around their ability to switch effectively on pick-and-roll plays and keep the Sixers’ shooters in check.

Boston’s guard Marcus Smart played a key role in disrupting the Sixers’ offense with his tenacious defense, particularly against Embiid.
