Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III are asking for prayers for actor Jamie Foxx’s health after he experienced a medical emergency. Foxx’s daughter, Corrine, shared the news on April 11th but didn’t provide further details. Parsons expressed his concern on Twitter, referring to Foxx as a “black hero” and emphasizing the importance of preserving a great father, brother, and son. Griffin also urged fans to pray for Foxx, describing him as more than just a talented actor, comedian, and musician.
Foxx is currently working on the Netflix film “Back In Action,” but the incident did not occur on set. Production resumed without Foxx on April 17th, with his co-star Cameron Diaz seen alongside his stunt doubles. Many celebrities, including Nick Cannon, Taraji P. Henson, LeBron James, Steve Harvey, Martin Lawrence, and Tracy Morgan, sent well-wishes for Foxx’s recovery. Comedian Kevin Hart mentioned on the “Impaulsive Podcast” that Foxx was on the path to recovery.
Although there haven’t been further updates from Foxx’s family, Foxx himself made an Instagram post thanking Micah Parsons and everyone who sent him love. Corrine’s Instagram account has been relatively quiet during this time, with only an Intel advertisement remaining and the previous post about her father’s situation deleted. Foxx’s family is reportedly preparing for the worst-case scenario, consulting a neurologist to assess his condition.
As a Dallas Cowboys fan, Foxx had previously visited the team’s training camp in California. His recovery will likely involve catching up on his favorite team, including watching Micah Parsons play.
